Ivan Miroshnichenko will be player to watch against Islanders in NHL debut

Yesterday the 20th overall pick of the 2022 NHL Draft got the call to the office of a lifetime after practice. Fresh after his recall from the Hershey Bears, Ivan Miroshnichenko was informed by Washington Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery that he will make his NHL debut tonight against the New York Islanders.

Miroshnichenko recorded 15 points in 27 games in his first season with the Hershey Bears with eight goals and seven assists. He ranks tied for third among all Hershey skaers in goals, but his seven even strength goals are the second most on the team.

Miroshnichenko skated on the third line with Evgeny Kuznetsov and Hendrix Lapierre at practice yesterday and also skated on the second power play unit.
