We couldn't make it out to MedStar Capitals Iceplex but with the help of X from the pros we can sort of get a read on what's going on.

Now this is a good sign. Good to see this trio on the ice than not. Capitals Insider Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network reported that Anthony Mantha was on the ice in a normal jersey. He left Saturday's loss to the Florida Panthers with an undisclosed injury. He also noted that the Caps transaction of recalling Ivan Miroshnichenko from the Hershey Bears was on the ice.

Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post noted that Martin Fehervary, who's still week to week with a lower body injury, was on the ice in the light blue non contact sweater He suffered that against Montreal the previous Saturday. Nic Dowd, who's day to day with an upper body injury, practiced in a non contact sweater as well.

All Spencer Carbery said, per Johnson, was there's a "good chance" Mantha plays as he's a game time decision. The other game time decision is Nick Jensen. For that question, Carbery said "we'll see."

Johnson would add that Carbery hopes both Dowd and Fehervary can return this week. She also reported that T.J. Oshie is officially week to week with an upper body injury after that non contact injury last Thursday in Tampa Bay.

The starting goaltender tonight remains a mystery as we are writing this. In milestone news John Carlson will suit up for his 984th game tonight which passes Calle Johansson for the most games played by a defenseman in franchise history.
