The Washington Capitals offseason goes on. Sadly we won't see a Cup in DC this summer but the NHL did annouce the Eastern and Western Conferernce Finals schedules.

This post will be updated with the results after each game, we'll start first with the Eastern Conference then the West:

A1 Florida Panthers vs. P1 New York Rangers

Game 1 May 22 8 p.m. on ESPN and ESPN plus

Final score Panthers 3, Rangers 0

The Panthers stunned the Madison Square Garden crowd with a 3-0 shutout. You can catch the highlights below:

Game 2

The Rangers got payback with a 2-1 win in overtime to even up the series. Barclay Goodrow would win the game for New York to the delight of the Garden crowd.

Game 3

This was a wild affair. Back and fourth and it saw the Rangers come out on top in overtime by a final of 5-4. They now lead the best of seven series two games to one.

Game 4

In a fierce Game 4 down in Sunrise, Florida, Vincent Trocheck put the Rangers up 1-0 with a power play goal. The Panthers would answer back with two consecutive goals from Sam Bennett and Carter Verhaeghe, the latter on the power play before Alexis Lafreniere tied it right back up. Sam Reinhart would win it with a PPG in overtime to even the series at two games apiece.

Game 5

The Panthers stunned the Rangers with a 3-2 win at MSG to put them one win away from the Stanley Cup Final. First Chris Kreider put the Rangers ahead with a shorthanded goal. The Panthers would answer with two straight goals from Gustav Forsling and Anton Lundell. Sam Bennett sealed it with an empty netter which made things too late for Alexis Lafreniere.

Game 6

After the Rangers swept the Capitals they met their match with the Florida Panthers, a team you cannot underestimate.

Now for the Western Conference

P2 Edmonon Oilers vs. W and C1 Dallas Stars

Game 1

Wowzers what a game that turned out to go into TWO overtimes. Who else but Connor McDavid to win Game 1 for Edmonton.

Game 2

Stars 3, Oilers 1. Former Capital Connor Brown had the lone goal for Edmonton.

Game 3

Stars downed the Oilers 5-3 to go up 2-1 in the series.

Game 4

After the Stars took a 2-0 lead in Game 4, the Oilers answered with five unanswered goals to set off a party north of the border. One was scored by Leon Draisaitl. Series is even at two games apiece.

Game 5 May 31 FINAL Oilers 3 Stars 1

The Oilers take over Big D with a 3-1 win behind two PPGs from Ryan Nugent Hopkins.

Game 6

Wowzers we are geting the Edmonton Oilers vs. the Florida Panthers for the Stanley Cup. Dallas is eliminated and even though it's not football that feels good to type.
