By now you know the trade and the return for Evgeny Kuznetsov. Let's scour social media to see what the Washington Capitals fans and beat writers think about the deal.
Good luck Kuzy! We will always have game 6 vs the Pens in 2018 in our memories. I'll never forget the conclusion to his parade speech "Let's **** this $#!+" #ALLCAPS @Stars_AndSticks @NoVa_Caps pic.twitter.com/sVv2crsV9U

Our friend Bill Bride, who knows a thing or two about taking good photos wrote on X formerly known as Twitter, "Good luck Kuzy! We'll always have game 6 vs the Pens in 2018 in our memories."
Others have echoed similar statements when it comes to Kuznetsov. As sad (or some folks may be happy) about this transaction with a division rival in the Carolina Hurricanes, everyone including us here at Stars and Sticks are grateful for that Game 6.
2008-17 capitals survivor aka @averagecapsfan would tweet (or post): "Good for both parties tbh. His time had run out. We get something for him and he gets a chance with a contender that his friend plays for.

Capitals Insider of Monumental Sports Network, Tarik El-Bashir went back to a quote Caps general manager Brian MacLellan said over the weekend:
MacLellan on Kuznetsov a few days ago: “We’re open to anything that gives him an opportunity to continue his career the way he wants to continue it.” #ALLCAPS

The Caps did a brief tribute and if Kuznetsov is cleared to suit up for the Carolina Hurricanes by the NHLPA, he'll be right back in DC playing against his old team on March 22. The official Caps X account wrote the following: "An instrumental part of our success and forever etched in our history. Thanks for the memories and best of luck, Kuzy!"

The replies under the tweet were all postive based on what we saw with many pointing to this critical goal from the 2018 Stanley Cup run and we all know what happeend and the significance of said goal. It doesn't happen without him.
Even though the Caps sent him to a division rival today, Kuznetsov will always be a hero in these parts. For that and his other contributions on and off the ice, we thank you Kuzy!
