Just moments away from 1K, T.J. Oshie still currently sits at 999 career games played as Washington Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery announced that Oshie is a game time decision ahead of tonight's big tilt with the Vancouver Canucks.
You can catch the game at 10 p.m. on the east coast on Monumental Sports Network 2 or hear the game on Caps Radio 24/7 or 106.7 The Fan. Usually when teams take the ice for warmups we will know whether or not a player is in or out of the lineup.
So this is kind of awkward because I was actually in the middle of working on a special tribute to Oshie. I will still run forward with the post IF he is indeed in the lineup. If I happen to forget to before the game, that tribute story will go up tomorrow.
Oshie has played in 556 of his 999 career games with the Capitals while playing in 443 games with the St. Louis Blues. The Caps have a record of 330-166-60, a .647 point percentage, with Oshie in the lineup. Washington is 65-46-15 without Oshie. Oshie has 191 goals since joining the Capitals ahead of the 2015-16 season which is second to Alex Ovechkin who has 365 goals in that stretch.
Per Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post on Twitter aka X, Oshie left the Capitals morning skate early and did not take part in the line rushes. He was on the ice at the very beginning but left just before line rushes began. He was evaluated and he's a game time decision for now. That could mean he's in or he's out, stay tuned!
Oshie had a goal in the Caps win the other night over the Seattle Kraken, his hometown, to help the Capitals to a big 2-1 win heading into tonight's game.
