The Washington Capitals will have forward Tom Wilson in the 2024 NHL All Star Game, the NHL announced tonight. It is his second ASG and the NHL All Star Weekend will take place on Feb. 1-3 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

Wilson has recorded 19 points in 36 games this season with 11 goals and eight assists. Listed as six foot four and 224 pounds, Wilson is first on the Caps in hits with 107 and penalties drawn with 19 while tied for first in games played and shorthanded goals with one.

Wilson is also second in shots with 103 while tied for second in goals, power play goals with three, and game winning goals with two, while fourth in points. Among Caps forwards, Wilson is ranked third in ice time per game at 18:31 minutes and blocked shots with 30, fourth in shorthanded ice time per game at 1:42 and fifth in power play ice time per game with 2:24.

When Wilson scores a goal the Caps are 7-1-1 and 10-3-2 when he records a point. His goal the other night at the Pittsburgh Penguins set the stage for a Caps smackdown. He also had his first career hat trick in his 700th career game.

The last time Wilson was in the All Star Game was in 2022 as the Metropolitan Division defeated the Pacific and Central Divisions to win the ASG in Vegas. Wilson had a goal 13 seconds into the semifinal game against the Pacific, setting the record for fastest goal to start an ASG under the 3 on 3 format.

The format this year will be much different. The draft will take place on Feb. 1. That's where players will learn the team they'll play on in the ASG. The skills competition takes place Feb 2 while the game itself is on Feb. 3.
