Washington Capitals and MSE Foundation to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
Capitals are supporting the Hispanic and Latino Community from September 15 through Oct. 15
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Washington Capitals and Monumental Sports Network are supportiing the contributions of the Hispanic and Latino community from September 15 through Oct. 15. Per the press release, there's plenty of fun events to get involved.
On Oct. 15 there will be a pregame Happy Hour at District E as well as Capitals Game Tributes ahead of their game against the Vegas Golden Knights that will feature Latin music, salsa dancing and inspired food. The graphics in game will also highlight Hispanic Heritage Month. Graphics on the Capitals social media channels will be translated to the spanish language.
Fans who wish to purchase tickets to the game can purchase tickets through the Caps via this special link and tickets purchased through the special ticket offer will be donated to the Hispanic Heritage Foundation.
In addition the Monumental Sports and Entertainment Foundation will provide a $10,000 grant to the Hispanic Heritage Foundation prior to the game against the Vegas Golden Knights. Fans who wish to make a contribution can do so at hispanicheritage.org.
The Caps will additionally host a ball hockey clinic with the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC) to engage with youth on the sport of hockey on September 24. LAYC's mission is to empower a diverse population of youth to achieve a successful transition to adulthood through multicultural, comprehensive, and innovative programs that address the youth's social, academic, and career needs.
LAYC serves more than 4,000 youth and families annually through youth centers, school based sites, and public charter schools in Washington D.C. and Prince George's and Montgomery Conties as the Maryland Multicultural Youth Centers
