Washington Capitals hockey is just around the corner and per the reports it was a positive first day for the future baby Caps. Per Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post, Braden Holtby was on the ice working out with the goalies at Rookie Camp just like he was at Development Camp.

It was Holtby on the ice with Olaf Kolzig which is a winning combination.

In other news it was a successful turnout at the Laughlin Family Foundation as the cause raised over $240,000.

If you're attending this weekend here are some prospects to keep an eye out for:

Ayodele Adeiye: A defenseman out of Adrian College, he is a free agent invitee and recorded four points in 31 games during his senior season. The six foot five, 190 pound defenseman ranked second on the Bulldogs in penalty minutes with 53 and third in blocked shots with 19. In 85 career games at Adrian, Adeniye recorded 23 points and a +56 plus/minus rating.

Cam Allen: A defenseman from Guelph of the OHL he was drafted in the fifth round at 136th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft as Allen missed the first 43 games of the 2023-24 season recovering from an injury. The six foot, 196 pound defenseman made his season debut on Jan. 26 and ecorded nine points in 25 regular season games with two goals and seven assists with the Guelph Storm of the OHL.

Garin Bjorklund: A goalie out of South Carolina of the ECHL, he was drafted by the Caps in the sixth round at 179th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft. The 22 year old posted a record of 14-11-1 with a 3.33 goals against average and an .882 save percentage in 27 games with the South Carolina Stingrays in 2023-24. The six foot two and 189 pound goaltender stopped all 36 shots to earn his first professional shutout on Feb. 3, 2024 against Atlanta.

Andrew Cristall: The 19 year old was named to the WHL B.C. Division Second All Star Team after recording 111 points with 40 games and 71 assists in 62 regular season games with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL. The Vancouver, British Columbia native ranked tied for fourth in the WHL in assists and fifth in points per game at 1.79. Cristall registered a career high seven point performance with two goals and five assists on March 8 vs. Kamloops and became the first Kelowna skater since 2007-08 to record a 100 point season.
