Believe it or not the Washington Capitals season is inching closer. Rookie camp is this weekend. Training camp is next week. Followed by the preseason then we celebrate the Caps 50th anniversary next month. On Wednesday Monumental Sports and Entertainment announced the complete broadcast schedule so we can all plan our falls accordingly.
The network announced that 75 games will air on it and of course it'll include comprehensive gameday coverage and robust mutiplatform content covering the top storylines including the 50th anniversary celebration and Alex Ovechkin's chase of the NHL goal scoring record.
The first available game will be on September 22nd at 3 p.m. against the Philadelphia Flyers at 3 p.m. while will be free for fans to sream on monumentalsportsnetowrk.com and on the Monumental Sports Network app. In addition the Oct. 5th game against the Boston Bruins will air on the platoform.
In addition to all six of the team's preseason games the team will air 69 regular season game sbeginning on Saturday Oct. 12 as the Caps open their season against the New Jersey Devils at 7 p.m.
Monumental has already provided top notch coverage including their 50 days to 50 years of Caps hockey informal skate coverage as well as the Laughlin Family Foundation golf event on Tuesday.
Per the release, during the days leading up to the season opener, Monumental Sports and Entertainment will have live coverage of the Caps 50th Kickoff Celebration on Oct. 10 and the alumni game on Oct. 11 as well as special pregame red carpet coverage featuring player interviews and analysis from 4-7 p.m.
The first hour will be a digital Monumental exclusive and per the release the vast majority of games will air on Monumental with 11 airing on a newly rebranded overflow station called M2.
