The Caps and Islanders are both coming off losses. In additon to the Caps losing 5-1 across the Hudson River, the Islanders lost on home ice that same night 7-0 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Jack Guentzel and Evgeni Malkin each had a pair of goals in the winning effort for Pittsburgh.

Either way it's a horse race for the playoffs as the Caps and Isles are neck and neck in the Metro Division standings while both sit in the wild card spots. Just two points separates them so a Caps win could tie them with the team from Long Island. Enjoy the game.
