Logan Thompson has played 101 games as the Capitals netminder and has been one of the best goalies in the league. He played his first season on the last year of a 3 year contract he signed with Vegas that paid him $757,000 a year. After his stellar 2024-25 season, the Caps signed Thompson to a 6 year deal worth $5.75 million per season. He followed up that signing by winning 31 games (tied for 4th most) while sporting a .912 save percentage (3rd) and a 2.44 Goals Against Average. (5th). Thompson is the 16th highest paid goaltender in the NHL although he ranks in the top 7 of the league's best goalies. Thompson is in his prime and if he continues to win until through the rest of his contract, the Capitals would have gotten incredible value out of one of the leagues best.
