The good, the bad, the ugly against Devils

It was another bad loss at Capital One Arena as the Washington Capitals fought to the end but faltered

The Washington Capitals fell to the New Jersey Devils 3-2 on Saturday night from Capital One Arena. The season series is now led by New Jersey 2-1 with Tomas Tatar, Brendan Dillon and Dougie Hamilton providing the three goals for the Devs. Matt Roy and Connor McMichael would strike for the Caps.

Now presenting the good, the bad the ugly.

The ugly: The aftermath of the loss

Further breakdown of this loss saw takeaways even at 5-5. Caps led in giveaways 14-11. The Devils led in blocked shots 28-17. The Caps surrendered two goals on five power play opportunities for the Devils which is good for 40 perecent. Caps went one for two on their power play with the lone goal coming from McMichael on his own assist. One good is the Cpas outhit them 18-14 probably from all the scraps throughout the game.

The Devils had the edge in face off percentage 54.7 percent to 45.3 percent. Shots on goal were 33-25 in favor of New Jersey. The opening 20 saw the Devils outshoot the Cpas 13-3. The middle stanza and the third saw the Caps outshoot New Jersey 12-11 and 10-9, respectively. Before we get to the bad lets talk about the good.
