The Hit heard 'round the NHL: The Tom Wilson hit on Filip Chytil

At this point we're not arguing about whether Tom Wilson's hit on Filip Chytil was clean or not. The refs on the ice said it's clean and the NHL agrees. No disciplinary action, supplementary or otherwise.

Chytil was the second Canucks forward not to return to the game against the Capitals on Sunday, October 21, though the other ran into a literal wall as opposed to the wall otherwise known as Tom Wilson's right side.

The hit in question occurred at the end of the first period. Vancouver looked after their own and the two teams clashed as the Canucks forward was slow to get up, after seemingly bouncing off of the Caps top-line winger. Filip had just passed the puck to Evander Kane, and the strike was solely to the body, thus avoiding any question of a penalty.

As of yet, the League hasn't assigned minutes for being a literal brick wall on the ice.

Chytil has a history of concussions , so one could almost wonder what he was doing put his body near Tom Wilson.

Wilson, of course, has a reputation as the Capitals enforcer, which was cemented during the playoffs last season with his notorious crybaby face to the Montreal Canadiens post-scrap. And, the hit to the face he received was immortalized on T-shirts worn by the whole team.

If this is what we're talking about in the middle of October I can't imagine how much more trouble Wilson will be rustling up before our next round of playoffs.
