The Washington Capitals defeated the New Jersey Devils by a final of 6-5 in overtime. Here were the top 3 studs in the win. Of course number one is an easy choice but what about the other two?
#3 Connor McMichael
Connor McMichael gave the Caps their first lead of the night in that topsy turvy of a first period. He had a snap shot at 10:14 as Tom Wilson and Jakob Chychrun assisted there. McMichael also assisted on first Caps goal of the night which came from Tom Wilson.
McMichael explained the goal to Mike Vogel of WashCaps.com:
"That's something that we've been preaching really hard in training camp, getting bodies to the interior and funneling pucks low, even if it's off the net. We want to be the first ones on loose pucks, and to wear teams down. I thought our line especially has done a really good job of that so far, through the first four games. McMichael would add in the same story, "Obviously it's not the prettiest win for us. But I think it shows a lot of character, especially on the road. We didn't back down, we kpet our foot on the gas, and we're able to find a way to win."
