#1 Tom Wilson
This will be the Capitals only visist to Amerant Bank Arena this season. They'll host the Florida Panthers at Capital One Arena on Feb. 4 and March 22. Last season the Capitals dropped the season series to the Panthers 0-1-2 with two of those losses in overtime. Back to McMichael for a quick second. He had three points in that season series with a goal and two assists while Aliaksei Protas had three assists.
Before we get to our final player we'll say this. Per the Caps, Washington enters tonight's game on a four game road winning streak and have outscored the opposition 24-7 in that stretch. The Caps have a 6-2-0 road record this season which is good for a .750 point point percentage, good for the third highest away from Capital One Arena.
In additon, Washington ranks first in the NHL in road goals per game with 4.50, sixth in road goals against per game at 2.50, first in road penalty kill percentage at 95.7 percent and tied for sixth in road power play percentage.
In Sunday's practice at MedStar Capitals Iceplex, Tom Wilson took reps on the top line alongside Dylan Strome and Aliaksei Protas. So far this season, Wilson has six goals and eight assists for 14 pionts in 20 games including a plus/minus of +5. One of those six was a game winner however, he hasn't lit the lamp since Halloween night against the Montreal Canadiens. He did have an assist in Thursday's loss to the Colorado Avalanche.
Wilson has a corsi for percentage of 49.73 percent, a 57.55 expected goals for percentage and a 58.12 percent high danger chances for percentage per Natural Stat Trick. Needless to say, he's due for a goal.
