The Washington Capitals host the San Jose Sharks tonight at 7 p.m. on Monumental Sports Network as well as 106.7 The Fan and Caps Radio 24/7. Washington enteres with a 17-6-1 record while San Jose is 9-13-5. Washington was the only team to win four games last week and it was all rollercoaster hockey that saw them come out on top.

For the first and second time this season the Caps got game winning goals on the power play and both times came in Florida from Jakob Chychrun last Monday against the Florida Panthers and on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning from Tom Wilson.

In Friday's win over the New York Islanders, the Caps scored twice with the extra man and it notched three power play goals in the second period in Saturday's 6-5 over the New Jersey Devils.

#3 Dylan Strome

Dylan Strome was vital on the first of those Saturday power plays in New Jersey especially against the fourth ranked Devils penalty kill. Strome has 11 points with a goal and 10 assists and is Washington's leading power play scorer.

Strome drew the double minor penalty that put the Caps on a four minute power play in the middle part of the second period. He took a stick to the grill as a result, showing even more how much he's a team player.
