The Washington Capitals utlized another third period offensive explosion on the Detroit Red Wings, the second such time in 11 days, to take them down 4-1 on Tuesday night at Capital One Arena. Here are the top 3 studs from the win.
#3 Pierre-Luc Dubois
Pierre-Luc Dubois would score in the third period to give the Caps the lead for good. It was his 18th goal of the season and it helped him reach the 60 point mark for the fourth time in his career (42 assists). 13 of PLD's 18 goals this season have come in his last 28 games.

#2 Dylan Strome
Dylan Strome scored the first goal of the game and would later have an assist on Connor McMichael's goal to put a bow on the game. It was Strome's fourth goal in his last five games. He has also scored the opening goal of a game within the first eight minutes of the first period in Washington's last two games.

Strome now has 22 goals and 45 assists for 67 points in 68 games played and is now one pont shy of establishing a new single season career high in points. Once he reaches it, he'll do so for the third consecutive season.
#1 Tom Wilson
Tom Wilson has the potential to be a future team captain someday and on Tuesday night he lit the lamp for his 30th goal of the season. He joins Alex Ovechkin as the first pair of Capitals teammates to reach the 30 goal mark in the same season since 2016-17 when Ovi shared the honors with T.J. Oshie.

It was also the first time Wilson had reached the 30 goal mark in his career. He is the fourth player in NHL history to play in 750 plus games prior to recording their first 30 goal season, joining Mike Sillinger (829 games), Johnny Bucyk (755) and Alex Delvecchio (951). It took Wilson his 821st game.
We also can't mention 30 without giving a special shoutout to Logan Thompson who picked up his 30th win on the season. That is tied for the third most in the NHL.
The Capitals are once again back in action on Thursday night when they host the Philadelphia Flyers at 7 p.m. on Monumental Sports Network as well as 106.7 The Fan and Caps Radio 24/7.
