#1 Dylan Strome

Dylan Strome would open up the scoring in the first period for the Caps after the Rangers took their first and only lead of the contest. It came in the form of a power play goal for his 12th of the season.

Strome would later have two assists and both were primaries. First it was Connor McMichael's power play goal and then Ovechkin. He would win First Star of the Game honors when all was said and done. As far as assists go, Strome leads the Caps in that category with 32.

Strome has recorded four points with one goal and three assists in two games against the Rangers this season and six points with a goal and five assists in his last six games against New York dating back to last season. It brought Strome's point total to a team leading 44 points and he did so in 39 games.

Strome's three point game on the day marked his fifth three point effort on the season. He has also assisted on 14 of Ovi's 19 goals on the season and since joining the Capitals in the 2022-23 season, Strome has assisted on 40 of Ovi's 92 goals, the most of any teammate in that span.
