The Washington Capitals defeated the New York Islanders in their annual Black Friday home game at Capital One Arena and on their second night of Capsgiving. The final was 5-4 and Jakob Chychrun would win the game, just like how we drew it up for your fantasy squad.

Simon Holmstrom struck first for the Islanders with his fourth goal of the season. Nic Dowd with tie it with his sixth goal of the year off Ivan Miroshnichenko's first apple of the season and Brandon Duhaime's fourth.

Tom Wilson would add a power play goal to give the Caps a 2-1 lead at 12:10 on the slap shot. Connor McMichael and Dylan Strome assisted there. Anders Lee tied it at two at 1:15 into the second period on a tip in for his ninth of the season. Then the Isles put it on with two more as Kyle MacLean scored his first of the season at 16:28 and Simon Holmstrom with his fifth of the season at 18:09.

In the third period the Caps turned it on. A power play strike from Dylan Strome ignited the comeback 80 seconds in for his eighth goal of the season as Jakub Chychrun added his 11th assist while McMichael added his second of the night. Then Tom Wilson tied it at 7:24 for his ninth of the season as Trevor van Riemsdyk had his 11th apple while McMichael completed the assist hat trick for his 10th.

In overtime Jakob Chychrun would win it. It came at 1:20 and Strome and Carlson helped there. It was Chychrun's seventh of the season, Strome's team leading 26th of the season and John Carlson's 13th. It ended a home winless drought that had gone on since Nov. 6. More importantly it was their League leading ninth comeback win of the season. McMichael, Wilson, and Chychrun, repsectively were the three stars of the game.

Caps were able to solve former Cap Semyon Varlamov who made 21 saves while Logan Thompson stopped 20 out of 24 shots for a .833 save percentage. Washington will board for New Jersey for a quick back to back turnaround to end the month of November with puck drop at 7 p.m. from Newark on Monumental Sports Network.
