In 1998 the Capitals finally made it to the Stanley Cup Final in the form of Joe Juneau scoring in overtime to beat the Buffalo Sabres.

The Caps were known as cokers in the playoffs but that spring of 1998 was different. Juneau would score at 6:24 into overtime to give the Caps their first trip to the Stanley Cup Finals in their 24 year history.

Dale Hunter would add in the same article, "It's one of those things you have to fight through (on blown leads of the past). It's been a long time coming."
