#24 The Inagural Season was dismal other than that yup

In 1974-75, the Capitals posted the league's worst record in league history. Yes we had to include this fact sadly. They finished with an 8-67-5 record. There was another team born that season named the Kansas City Scouts who would go on to be currently Metropolitan Division rival New Jersey Devils.

Before Ted Leonsis there was Abe Pollin, who bought the team after succesfully owning the NBA's Washington Bullets and building the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland. The Bullets actually first played in Baltimore which helped launch sports in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia as a whole.

Pollin's first act as a hockey owner was hiring Hall of Famer Milt Schmidt as the general manager. Not only was the record bad though but the goals against was an all time worst 446 goals against and with a fourth all time worst 5.58 team goals against average.

Of Washington's eight wins, seven were decided by two goals or more with a season suprlative 8-4 win in the final game. Their .131 winning percentage is still the worst in NHL history and their 21 points overall was half of the Scouts.

Okay okay sorry for the sad stats I promise these next 23 get better.
