#2 Lars Eller

At one point in time, Lars Eller was a member of the Montreal Canadiens from 2010 to 2016. During that stretch, Eller played in 435 career games and scored 71 goals and added 83 assists for 154 points.

Per the game notes:

"Eller leads all Capitals with at least 12 games played this season with a 54.44 on-ice shot attempt percentage at five-on-five (245 shot attempts for, 205 against). Should Eller maintain that rate, it will be his second-highest shot attempt percentage he’s recorded in a single season in his career (2016-17: 54.63) and his sixth season in total."

Eller has played in nine games against his former hockey club and scored five goals and an assist for six points including a game-winning overtime goal last season in Montreal.

Eller has steadily elevated his game offensively with five goals and six assists so far in these 20 games. Not too bad for a third line center. Last game Eller centered that line alongside Chandler Stephenson and Richard Panik.

Eller’s advanced stats are solid as well. His individual Corsi For percentage is 54.85%, Fenwick For is 55.26% and expected goals percentage is 52.61%.

There were no changes to the third line at morning skate as Carl Hagelin is still recovering from an upper body injury. He was on the ice but in a non contact jersey.
