#1 Alex Ovechkin

Two years ago, Alex Ovechkin had a memorable game inside of this building against this same opponent where he scored four goals in a blowout win off the heels of another hat trick the previous game. It pretty much silenced even the harshest of his critics.

Something tells me Ovechkin is going to have a big game tonight. At the rate he’s going he could finish the season flirting with 60 goals. At 34 years old. That’s insane.

Ovechkin currently has 13 goals and 10 assists for 23 points. His 23 points are tied for 10th in the NHL this season and his 13 goals are tied for the third most in the NHL. In his career, Ovechkin has 671 goals which is 12th on the NHL’s all-time list and first among left wingers.

Ovechkin has registered 99 shots so far this season which leads the NHL. Ovechkin has led the NHL in shots in 11 of his past 14 seasons and is 31 shots from passing Marcel Dionne for the third-most shots in NHL history.

As far as in his lifetime against the Canadiens, Ovechkin has 53 points including 31 goals and 22 assists in 48 games. The game notes also mention:

"Ovechkin is one of only two active players with at least 30 goals against Montreal (Jason Spezza: 32). Ovechkin’s 0.65 goals per game against the Canadiens is the highest per game total among active players with at least 25 career games and the eighth highest all-times."
