The NHL is in their final day of voting for the last man in for the All Star Game and T.J. Oshie of the Washington Capitals deserves your vote.

T.J. Oshie, as we all know, is the heart and soul of the top six of the Washington Capitals. After an injury that ended his season, Oshie has been back with a lot to prove and is having one of his best seasons in a Caps sweater.

Aside from his looks and charm, Oshie deserves that spot in the All Star Game for a chance to play in front of his old fans in St. Louis and they both can relate from winning the Stanley Cup so there’s no ill will.

The Washington Capitals are loaded with All Stars. To the surprise of no one, Alex Ovechkin was voted captain of the Metropolitan Division. Although he won’t be partaking in the festivities for the second straight year, the Caps will still have representatives in John Carlson, Braden Holtby, and Todd Reirden. Oshie should be joining that trio.

This season Oshie has 18 goals in 45 games. That’s equivalent to the same number of goals he had in all of 2017-18 and is already flirting with bypassing his 25 goal season last year. Oshie could even potentially catch 33 goals like he did the season before he got his raise.

Oshie also has 15 assists as well as 33 points. Whether on the top line with Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom or the second with Evgeny Kuznetsov and Jakub Vrana, Oshie has come up clutch.

In Washington’s 6-1 win over the Senators Oshie had two goals. His first one had just a nice form of a shot right in front of the net. His second one came as a result of crashing the net and taking a beautiful pass from Nicklas Backstrom.

They were impressive goals but neither were as big as the one he scored on Sunday afternoon that tied the game in Washington’s come from behind win over the San Jose Sharks. It was a shot from the right face-off circle that evened things up and set the stage for Lars Eller’s overtime heroics.

Caps fans can vote for Oshie through the link here. Capitals coach as well as the coach of the Metropolitan Division Todd Reirden recently told Tom Gulitti of NHL.com:

“T.J., he does so much for us. Just playing a few nights ago when he was really sick, the leadership he has in our room, the energy he brings, plays in all situations, I would certainly like to have him in the All-Star Game with me.”

Trending. Capitals continue to struggle in back to back games. light

Caps fans, let’s do our part! Let’s get Oshie to the All Star Game.
