#1 The Russian Machine Never Breaks

A shoutout to the popular Caps blog that couldn’t ring more true for great eight. Ovechkin has been known fo this durability with the most games he missed in a season being 10 games from the 2009-10 season. It is very rarely Ovechkin gets hurt.

The only time he doesn’t play these days is when the league punishes him by suspending him a game for skipping the all star game. Not that he needs to go, he will be an all star for the Caps every year.

Ovechkin is coming off a 48 goal season that could’ve easily been another 56 games had the league not shut down due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. He is now back in Washington with the rest of the team as they are gearing up for training camp which begins this Sunday.

Ovechkin has already reached out to his new coach Peter Laviolette. When he came to town, Ovechkin texted him asking him to dinner but Laviolette was still in quarantine protocol before he heads to MedStar to join his players.
