#1 Erik Haula

One of the biggest concerns in the last month was Lars Eller’s lower body injury. The Caps have depth from top to bottom when it comes to centers but they cannot afford to lose Eller or another center for an extended period of time. In case they do or they need more depth perhaps they could trade for a center.

Last summer in the bubble we saw firsthand how one center injury could negatively impact the team when Anders Lee hit Nicklas Backstrom, knocking him out of the game. The Caps were doomed right from the start of that hit.

The one center that I think could help boost the team is Erik Haula of the Nashville Predators. He’s centered the Predators third line this season and has the versatility of skating on the wing. He is speedy and the Caps could use more speed on an old roster.

He could also boost face offs, something the team has been successful at this season. He’s a journeyman that’s played for the Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers, and Nashville Predators since 2016. He even faced the Caps in the Stnaley Cup Finals in 2018 recording two assists.

This season Haula has three goals and eight assists for 11 points in 34 games. His offensive numbers could get even better on this Capitals team. Those are our top 3 trade deadline targets. Who would you want to trade for? Let us know in the comments.
