#1 Fight night at MSG

The number one game of the season was last week’s tilt between the Capitals and New York Rangers. After Tom Wilson was involved in some controversy Monday night and only received a $5,000 fine, the Rangers were angry and made their frustrations known right as the puck was dropped.

When the puck was dropped the six forwards on the ice each dropped the gloves. There were six fights in the first five minutes. Lost in the madness was the heroics of T.J. Oshie who scored a hat trick for his late dad Coach who he lost the day before.

Oshie scored the first two goals of the night. The first one was a shot in front of the net. The second was on a rebound. Nic Dowd added the third goal. Oshie would seal the win and the hat trick with an empty net goal in the third period. The Caps would win 4-2.

After the game instead of playing their usual victory song, they ditched that for Oshie’s goal song Country Roads.
