#1 September 29 vs. New Jersey Devils

Although it is the second preseason game, you gotta catch the game tonight for two reasons. The first is we get a first look at the Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, and Anthony Mantha line against NHL competition for the first time. Another reason is that we’ll get another glimpse of Connor McMichael and Hendrix Lapierre.

Lapierre had two assists the other night against the Boston Bruins and had a solid game overall. He told Mike Vogel of WashingtonCaps.com:

"“My goal is to get a spot in the National Hockey League. I know it’s a tough job. I’m only 19, but if I have to go back to juniors, it will be that. If I can play in the National Hockey League it will be that, so I’ll be ready for whatever situation. My job as a hockey player is to be ready each and every night and to show the coaching staff and everyone here what I’m made of. Right now, that’s’ my goal and we’ll see what happens.”"

Over on the Devils side we will not only see Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes play but we’ll also see former Capitals defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler who unfortunately found himself as the odd man out on defense last season before getting traded.
