# Evgeny Kuznetsov

To the window, to the wall, Evgeny Kuznetsov was all over the place and was rewarded with a two goal game and the postgame axe afterwards. His first goal opened up the scoring as Kuzy split the defense with 13:45 to go in the first. It was his fourth point in three games, his previous three points all being assists.

His second goal came late in the second period on a wrist shot. It was his 17th multi goal game. Overall he recorded three points last night with two goals and an assist. It was his second three point effort in three games this season. He also led the Caps with six shots.

Kuznetsov was asked by the media if he was pleased with his torrid start to the season:

"“Yeah, but it’s just three games right? Of course, I’m happy the way we play. I’m happy with the personal performance. But at the end of the day, it’s still two points.”"

Kuznetsov had just one mistake in the game which resulted in a shorthanded goal after a risky pass on the power play. He didn’t let that mistake mess up his game. He talked more about it:

"“That mistake I made on the power play, not even one guy say anything to me because there is a trust. I appreciate it. … We know when we make mistakes, and when you come to the bench that’s the worst part. You want to go under the ground. But nobody say anything, and that was huge.”"
