The Good

The good part of this game was the second period comeback. Down 3-0 after the opening 20 minutes, the Caps mounted a comeback scoring three unanswered goals.

While the Caps were down a man, Evgeny Kuznetsov intercepted the puck and raced down to score his fourth goal of the season. He clearly read our articles in the past that criticized him as well as your mean tweets and comments. He’s on a revenge tour. Kuzy scored in Washington’s road win over the New Jersey Devils and scored twice in their home win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Alex Ovechkin had this to say about Kuznetsov after the game:

"“He has kind of bounced back and he’s in the right direction. It is good for us, good for him and it is kind of fun to play with him. Fun to see his smile and fun to see what he can do on the ice.”"

Martin Fehervary would score his first NHL goal. Congrats to him. He earned his spot on the top pair with John Carlson and finally got rewarded. Here’s what he said:

"“I just try to join the rush. Willy play it back for me and then I heard Kuzy from behind calling me ‘Shoot, shoot, shoot.’ So I just shoot it and it went through so I’m really happy.”"

Ovechkin also joined the scoresheet for his fifth goal of the season to tie the game. It was also the 735th of his career. He’s six away from number four Brett Hull. 31 away from Jaromir Jagr. 66 away from Gordie Howe and 159 away from Wayne Gretzky.

The second period got the Caps back into the game and was able to help them muster a point. However, this next slide shows how they lost the game.
