#1 A full house

Oct. 13 was the night we’ve all been waiting for since this awful pandemic started, the chance to watch our Caps in person before a full house. That’s exactly what we got that night and the Caps dominated to a 5-1 win over the New York Rangers.

Believe it or not the power play was actually clicking that night. The Caps got two goals on the man advantage with the first coming from T.J. Oshie and the second coming from Justin Schultz.

Hendrix Lapierre scored in his first NHL game in epic fashion. Thanks to a slick backhanded pass from Oshie, Lapierre drove to the net, scored and crashed into the boards. He was just fine though as Oshie picked him right up.

Alex Ovechkin did Alex Ovechkin things in the third period with a power play goal and a shorthanded goal. It put him at 732 in his career at the time, passing Marcel Dionne.

This was more than a game and a win. It was overhyped by the media, and admittedly us, after their last meeting had epic brawls. But the Caps played their game and didn’t feed into the Rangers gameplan.

Hot. Capitals blast past Red Wings to end 2021 with a bang. light

Those are the top 3 moments of 2021. Let’s hope 2022 brings another Cup and more milestones.
