#2 Jack Campbell

Jack Campbell could be a hit or a miss depending on the situation. Over the last two seasons he’s looked like he’s has the complete package in a goaltender. Other times, he’s looked average at best. So similar to the Commanders with Carson Wentz, we wouldn’t quite know which version we would get if the Caps were to pursue Campbell.

Campbell spent the last two and a half seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are similar to the Capitals in terms of offense. The only difference is that those Maple Leafs are way younger.

Campbell went 31-9-6 in the regular season with a 2.64 goals against average and a .914 save percentage. In the playoffs he went 3-4 as the Maple Leafs fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning in seven games in the first round.. That included a 3.15 goals against average and a .897 save percentage.

If there’s one thing we are grateful for as Caps fans, it’s the fact that we’re not Maple Leafs fans. While our first round exit was a meltdown, it’s been a hot minute since the Maple Leafs actually went on a deep playoff run.

If the Caps defense can play solid, Campbell could go hand in hand with the Capitals.
