#2 Owen Beck

Owen Beck is another center the Caps could possibly take that could make an immediate impact. He plays for Mississauga of the OHL. Prior to that he played with the Quinte Red Devils and the Cobourg Cougars.

With the Red Devils U15 AAA in 2018-19, he had 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points. The next year for U16 AAA he had 19 goals and 20 assists for 39 points. He also spent that season with the Cobourg Cougars of the OJHL for two games.

In 68 games with the Mississauga Steelheads of the OHL, he had 21 goals and 30 assists for 51 points.

Mike G. Morreale of NHL.com said this about Beck:

"The Capitals could use some shut-down centers and Beck fits the bill. He tied for fifth among OHL rookies with 51 points (21 goals, 30 assists) in 68 games, and was first in voting for best on face-offs in a poll of OHL Eastern Conference coaches after he finished second in the league in face-off winning percentage (60.6 percent; minimum 400 face-offs). He might be one of the most consistent players in this year’s draft class."

Beck is 18 years old and listed as six foot and 190 pounds. He is another center the Caps could keep their eyes on on their draft board.
