While hockey season is just getting started, many leagues all over the world have gotten underway. With that being said, let’s take a look at how some of our favorite Washington Capitals prospects are making out to start the season.
With the AHL season getting in-full-swing over the weekend, the Hershey Bears are off to a 2-0-0 start, thanks to some help from some new faces. Notable top prospects, Hendrix Lapierre and Vincent Iorio both recorded points over the weekend; Lapierre with a goal and an assist over the two games, while Iorio recorded his first professional point with an assist on the Lapierre goal in his second game.
The WHL features some other Caps prospects who have had respectable starts to their campaigns. 2022 draft picks, Ryan Hofer (6th round) of the Everett Silvertips has 10 points through his first 8 games while Alexander Suzdalev (3rd round) has 8 points through 9 games with the Regina Pats. The 2021 6th round pick, defenseman Dru Krebs also has 7 points through 7 games with the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Other notable Caps prospects include a pair of NCAA American defenseman in Brent Johnson and Ryan Chesley. Johnson, a 2021 3rd round pick is currently representing the University of North Dakota, where he has obtained 3 points in his first 4 games. Ryan Chesley, a 2022 2nd round pick has recorded a pair of assists in 4 games with the University of Minnesota.
Hockey season is here, and we can’t wait to see what this season has in store for these Capitals prospects. The Caps also added Sonny Milano who has successfully cleared waivers and will report to the Hershey Bears.
In the minors, Milano has recorded 115 points in 166 career AHL games and won the Calder Cup in 2016 with the Lake Erie Monsters. That equates to 40 goals and 75 assist and it should be a boost for a hungry Hershey Bears team.
