Time to grade another prospect that suited up with the Washington Capitals this past season. Like we've said we'll do Hershey Bears grades once their season concludes. Next up is Hendrix Lapierre.

What we know at the NHL level:

The Caps prospect tore it up this season with eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points and did so in 51 games after a goal in six games during the first full season of the Peter Laviolette era. He also got his first taste of playoff hockey with a goal in Game 4's loss to the New York Rangers.

Below is his first ever NHL goal and you can see the speed he brings to the lineup whenever his name gets called.

What we know with the Bears

A lot. In 21 regular season games he contributed five goals and 12 assists for 17 points. He's been vital on the Bears offensive attack as they look to defend their Calder Cup title beginning this Thursday night from GIANT Center.

Final Grade B

It's not a big enough sample size I know. But I think Lapierre will be ready to evolve into an NHL role and it could come as soon as opening night in 2024. So far in seven playoff games, Lapierre has three goals and five assists for eight points, once again proving how reliable he can be.

But the challenge will be making it. He'll have some competition in the wings with Ethen Frank, Chase Priskie, Ivan Miroshnichenko, Joe Snively, Garrett Roe, and many others that are hungry to taste that NHL ice.

But overall we think Lapierre has been trending upward and it's good to see especially for a team trying to get younger. You can catch up on all the latest Hershey Bears news at HersheyBears.com.
