The Washington Capitals had a morning skate ahead of their game tonight against the Edmonton Oilers. Darcy Kuemper was the first goalie off the ice and he will get the start in goal.

As for the rest of the lineup, per Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post, the rest of the lineup is to be determined. That includes guys like Tom Wilson, Martin Fehervary, and Nic Dowd.

Puck drop is a little after 10:20 p.m. eastern due to Caps vs. Oilers being the second game of a national TNT doubleheader. You can catch the game on both TNT and TruTV and you can stream it on MAX.

Dowd has 16 points with eight goals and eight assists. He survived trade deadline rumors and he practiced in a light blue non contact sweater for a while with an upper body injury. Tom Wilson has an upper body injury as well as Martin Fehervary has a lower body injury. T.J. Oshie returned from his upper body injury last game.

Per the game notes, the Capitals are 41-32-6-3 all time against Edmonton and have earned at least one point in six of their last 10 road games against the Oilers, going 4-4-2.

The Caps won their last visit in Rogers Place on Dec. 5, 2022 as Nic Dowd had the game winning goal while Charlie Lindgren stopped 28 shots in a 3-2 Caps victory. Oshie meanwhile is suiting up for his 997th career NHL games. He leads the Caps with 29 points in 34 career games against Edmonton with 10 goals and 19 assists.

Alex Ovechkin leads the Caps in goals against Edmonton with 14 in his career. The Caps are down in the standings but not out as they've gone 7-3-1 in their last 11 games dating back to Feb. 17.
