Rasmus Sandin is a good fantasy start vs Utah Hockey Club

Sandin has all three of his goals on the season plus an assist in his last four games, The 24 year old picked up his game with Jakob Chychrun sidelined and has showed no signs of slowing despite the return of Chychrun, who has taken his spot back on the power play Sandin is still seeing top four minutes, which allows him to make an impact at even strength. For the season, the Swedish blueliner has nine points, 18 shots on net, 20 hits, 36 blocked shots and a plus 11 rating through 16 appearances.

Corey Abbott of RotoWire via Yahoo Fantasy Sports added this about the defenseman:

Sandin has three goals and two assists during his five game point streak. He has seven shots, two hits and five blocks during that stretch. Sandin has flashed his offensive upside in the past, but he hasn't put it all together, yet. However, that could change in 2024-25. Washington's high octane offense leads the league with 4.24 goals per game, and the defense corps has played a significant role in the team's success on the scoresheet. Sandin is also tied for second on the Capitals with a plus 13 rating.

As far as milestones with in reach, Sandin is four points shy of 100 career points. Per Natural Stat Trick at five on five, Sandin's corsi for percentage is at 48.63 percent heading into tonight's game. His expected goals for percentage is at 57.60 percent while his high danger chances for is at 56.31 percent.

Sandin also has some decent speed. Per NHL Edge, his top skating speed is clocked at 21.01 miles per hour. The league avergae by forwards/defensemen is 21.16. He is over average at speed bursts over 20 miles per hour with 10 putting him 66th overall in the NHL. His skating distance is at 4844 percent which is also 66th. The league average is 37.41.
