Pierre-Luc Dubois will be a major strength against Ottawa Senators

The Washington Capitals and Ottawa Senators go head to head tonight at 7 p.m. on Monumental Sports Network. Pierre-Luc Dubois recorded his 27th assist of the season on Tuesday at home against the Anaheim Ducks.

PLD, who recorded his 17th career multi goal game and scored his eighth career overtime goal on Jan. 8 against the Vancouver Canucks recorded 20 points in his last 21 games with five goals and 15 assists. On Jan. 4 against the New York Rangers, Dubois recorded his 25th assist and eclipsed his assist total from last season in 43 career games.

18 of Dubois 27 assists this season have been primaries, which ranks second on the team behind Dylan Strome with 19. He led the Capitals with 13 points in December with two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 13 games played.

The six foot four, 220 pound center also led Washington in points with four goals and 10 assists in 16 games during Alex Ovechkin's 16 game absense from Nov. 21 to Dec. 23. In 44 games this season, Dubois has recorded 34 points with seven goals and 27 assists. He also ranks second on Washington in assists, third in points, and second in even stregnth points with seven goals and 22 assists for 29 points.

PLD is on pace for 50 assists this season, which would mark a new career high that he previously set in the 2022-23 season when he had 36 assists. In 21 career games against the Ottawa Senators, PLD has recorded 21 points with eight goals and 13 assists. His 21 points against them are the third most he has registered against a single franchise.
