The 2015 NHL Draft is less than two weeks away. This year’s NHL Draft is perhaps the most anticipated NHL Draft in recent memory because there is so much talent available. All of that talent also makes trying to figure out what teams are going to do that much more fun and difficult. What will the Washington Capitals and the rest of the NHL teams do? Who knows. But it sure is fun to guess!

As always, I did this mock draft considering who would be the best fit for each team. I didn’t always look at positional needs, but in more cases than I thought, I wound up going with positions of need because this is such a deep draft. Usually it’s wiser to go with the best player available since what you need might not be there, but in this draft, it was definitely there, especially in the first round.

In my last mock draft, I had the Washington Capitals drafting a blue liner (specifically, Oliver Kylington). I wanted to see how things would go if the Washington Capitals drafted a forward instead. The results were actually quite different. In this mock draft, I changed a lot of my picks, mostly because I did some switching in the top ten picks which wound up affecting everything else.
