After their home stand ended on a sour note losing three of four games, the Capitals needed a win in Colorado over the Avalanche for revenge on an October loss.
They got it in a big way.

The Caps rallied from a 2-0 first period deficit that was started by Andre Burakovsky scoring the game’s opening goal.
Nicklas Backstrom got the Caps on the board in the second period. Tom Wilson tied the game and T.J. Oshie got the game winning goal.
The Caps will now take on an Arizona Coyotes team that came away with a 4-3 victory at Capital One Arena back in November in their last meeting. In that game, the Caps came back from a three-goal deficit only to come up short in a shootout.
Friday was an off day but expect the lineups to be similar. It’s unclear as of this article publishing who will start in goal for the Caps.
