Capitals vs. Canadiens: Caps return home
The Washington Capitals return home looking to return to their winning ways.
Tonight the Washington Capitals will host the Montreal Canadiens for the third and final time this season.
After a brutal defeat on their home ice that at the time was their worst loss of the season back in November (until this recent stretch), the Caps won the most recent meeting 4-2 on Jan. 27 in Montreal.
The Capitals are coming off a 3-2 defeat to the Vegas Golden Knights, finishing their three game road trip with just one win and two losses. T.J. Oshie scored both Capitals goals.

The Canadiens are on a three game road trip of their own that began with a 4-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night. It was their fifth straight loss.
Alex Ovechkin will be looking to end his five game goal-less drought which has been the longest of the season. Sitting at 698 goals he gets another chance at scoring 700 goals in front of the home fans.
The Caps dropped a 5-2 defeat back in November to the Habs where Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov lit the lamp.
They got payback at the Belle Centre on Jan. 27 in a 4-2 win. Tom Wilson, Travis Boyd, Jakub Vrana and Nicklas Backstrom scored for the Caps while Braden Holtby got the win stopping 31 of 33 shots.
Will this be the night Ovechkin gets 700 goals? Here is how to find out.
