The two legends will partake in an NHL Virtual Showdown.
I don’t know about you but, Hockey hasn’t been played in over a month and I’m beginning to have withdrawls from the sport.
Ok, that was a joke but seriously, I miss hockey and as of right now, we were supposed to know if we are headed to the second round or playing in the second round already.
Instead, we will get to see the two greatest hockey players to ever play the game, square of next Wednesday in an NHL virtual matchup.

According to Scott Allen, of The Washington Post, “The best-of-three series will stream live on the Capitals’ Twitch channel beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern time, and both Ovechkin and Gretzky will appear.”
So, set your alarms and don’t miss the matchup as it could be one of the funnest virtual matchups to watch other than the World Series Champions Washington Nationals re-watching game 7. Oh, by the way, did anyone notice Brian Dozier banging on a small white trash can? That was funny.
Now, I know most of you are thinking, who’s gonna score the most goals. Who’s going to get the hattrick or will there be a shutout. My prediction is Ovechkin will come out on top 4-3 as they go to OT and no, not Ovechkin, but none other then, Ilya Kovalchuk, scores on a saucer pass from Ovi that gets through the goalie and seals the deal.
Even though they are donating proceeds to help those impacted by COVID-19. I wonder if one of the two will be awarded a replica Stanley Cup trophy? It would be cool to see but, I hardly sought we’ll see that.
Sorry to l left this for my closing statements but, it was nice knowing you Braden Holtby but, after this stoppage on play and the salary cap being stuck at where it is, the Capitals will not have enough salary cap to even negotiate a deal with Holtby unless they release a high end player or two. I appreciate everything you did and wish you the best in your future endeavors.
