The Washington Capitals took home four NHL Fan Choice awards. Captain too!

The results are in for the NHL Fan Choice awards and out of the five awards the Washington Capitals were nominated for, the Caps took home four of them! Caps fans really showed out in the NHL Fan Choice awards and leading the charge was none other than Captain the team dog.

Captain took home the crown of Best Team Dog with 22.0 percent of the vote, beating out second place Flambo from Montreal who had 16.4 percent. Easily a wide margin for the goodest boy in the league.

Captian was introduced to us on opening night when he was a little puppy and as we’ve seen on social media, the dog has really grown! We hope he’s allowed back at the rink soon so he can reunite with his friends on the team.

Alex Ovechkin will be remembered for winning the Rocket Richard Trophy once again but he also won the best GIF of the Year with 31.1 percent of the vote over the Gabriel Landeskog, who finished with 30.9 percent.

But one fan we got to meet helped the Capitals win Best Team Video. Jackson Friedlander won us all over with a Mite of the Nite interview for the ages that we even featured in the funniest video moments of the season.

Another big win was the 2020 Best Pregame Ritual which featured T.J. Oshie and Tom Wilson doing our favorite pregame tradition: the butt tap.

The Caps only award they fell short in was Best Bromance. Jakub Vrana and T.J. Oshie got 31.0 percent of the vote but lost out to Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky, who finished with 35.4 percent.

These awards showed that hockey fans everywhere have come to respect the Caps as well as the tremendous number of Caps fans that showed up to these special polls.
