Washington Capitals rightfully lands at No. 168 on FanSided 250
The Washington Capitals have made the FanSided 250 once again.
The Washington Capitals rank 168th on the FanSided 250 this year. That looks like a high number on the surface but among all NHL teams, the Caps are near the top of the league. Behind just the Vegas Golden Knights and the Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning.
FanSided 250 is a look at the 250 hottest fandoms of the year when it comes to sports, teams, athletes, gaming, celebrities, movies and more. D.C. Sports fans can also find the Washington Wizards as well as Juan Soto on the list.
The Caps got 48.5 percent of the fan vote, a search score of 31.1 while having over 2.4 million social media follows. They also mentioned one of their biggest celebrity fans.

In fact, they’re wondrously not alone because Lynda Carter has proven herself to be one of the biggest Caps fans in the world. When Wonder Woman is standing among you, that’s how you know a fandom is truly awesome.”
Lynda Carter is one of the lucky Caps fans that got their reverse retro jersey as she posted her rocking the red screaming eagle on social media. Caps fans loved it! She was also in attendance at Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final back in 2018.
The Caps ranking at third in the NHL in the FanSided 250 is a good spot. After winning the Stanley Cup, their popularity soared as it cemented Alex Ovechkin’s legacy as one of the greatest in the game. They’ll also be the team to watch as they hope to win another Cup as well as Ovechkin chasing Wayne Gretzky’s goal record.
Starting at the top will be Peter Laviolette as head coach as he hopes to bring back a winning culture into the locker room. That good culture where the team buys in was how they won the Cup a few years ago. Laviolette also has a good track record when it comes to taking his teams to the finals.
The Caps reverse retro jerseys are also the most popular jersey sale in the NHL as once they are gone they’re gone. Many fans have been lucky enough to buy the jersey while others have struck out. We can’t wait to see which games the team will be rocking those bad boys on the ice.
Speaking of hockey, the season is supposed to be here next month in a 56 game slate. We’ll take it as we are all starving for hockey!
