Washington Capitals at Islanders: Kicking off the month of April
The Washington Capitals and New York Islanders will do battle on Long Island in a battle for first place in the MassMutual East Division. The Caps currently have 50 points with a 23-8-4 record with the Isles right behind them with 48 points. The Islanders have lost two in a row while the Caps are coming off a loss in Manhattan against the Rangers.
In that game against the Rangers, the Caps scored the first two goals of the game before surrendering five unanswered including four in the third period. The goals came from T.J. Oshie and Nic Dowd. The Caps will look to play a more complete game and close out the Islanders in the third period, something they failed to do the last two games.
