Sabres vs. Washington Capitals: Last home game without fans
The day has finally came. Tonight the Washington Capitals will play their final home game at Capital One Arena without fans. It’s a shame there won’t be fans there to salute Nicklas Backstrom, who’s slated to play in his 1,000th game tonight.
Tonight is the eighth and final time the Caps will play the Sabres this season. The Caps are 6-0-1. Backstrom, Justin Schultz and T.J. Oshie each lead the Caps with eight points. Vitek Vanecek is 5-0-1 against Buffalo with one shutout, a 1.79 goals against average, and a .941 save percentage.
