Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin put together a small family birthday party for their dog, Blake, who just turned six. The event occurred on Saturday and Alex Ovechkin’s wife Anastasia as well as the great eight himself captured it on social media. Blake isn’t the only Ovechkin to celebrate a birthday this week as Sergei Ovechkin will turn three on Wednesday.
Ovechkin’s wife decided to provide the good birthday boy a cake which he gladly devoured. He posed for a photo first with a party hat on. According to Ovechkin’s sweetheart, it was a “dietary dog cake” so good on feeding Blake treats while keeping him healthy.

We’ve seen incredible content from Blake Ovechkin on social media from the Ovechkin couple. The other day a family friend took the pooch out to the soccer pitch. He might have potential to be a goalie.
Blake also loves his hockey which is no surprise being that he is owned by the GOAT. He’s played around when Alex practiced his puck handling, has chased down pucks at MedStar Capitals Iceplex, and even helped Alex practice his shooting by chasing down tennis balls hit by Alex’s hockey stick.
I remember when Blake was just three years old running around and playing in the Ovechkin mansion. Alex is a big lover of dogs and so is Tom Wilson. After the team dog Captain found a home will there be a Captain 2.0? Or a new team dog that will hang around the guys for the 2021-22 season?
One thing is for sure, when the Caps release their canine calendars, Blake Ovechkin is certainly the star as are the other player’s pets more than the actual players themselves. Hopefully they bring that back this season.
Everyone at Stars and Sticks would like to wish Blake Ovechkin a happy birthday!
