After a week of play, here are the updated Metropolitan Division power rankings for week two:

1. team. 85. The New Jersey Devils have been very impressive so far, scoring 13 goals and allowing just six through three games. <a href=. (3-0-0). Previous: . New Jersey Devils

Pittsburgh Penguins. 2. team. 92. The Pittsburgh Penguins have looked extremely impressive through two games, scoring 11 goals while allowing six. <a href=. (2-0-0). Previous:

New York Islanders. 3. team. 106. So far, the New York Islanders revamped offense looks really good, scoring 15 goals through their first three games. Their concern at the beginning of the season was their blue line, and they have done absolutely nothing to change that, as they have also allowed nine goals through their first three games. <a href=. (3-0-0). Previous:

The Washington Capitals probably should be 3-0-0 right now, but they’ve had bad puck luck. They dominated for almost the entire game against the Canadiens (lost that one 2-1 in a shootout) and they outshot the Sharks by quite a margin in their 6-5 shootout loss to them. They’ve looked very good against two very good teams, and they looked impressive against a slumping Bruins team. <a href=. (1-0-2). Previous: . Washington Capitals. 4. team. 19

Previous: . Columbus Blue Jackets. 5. team. 113. The Columbus Blue Jackets have beaten two bad teams so far: the Buffalo Sabres and the New York Rangers. <a href=. (2-1-0)

team. 68. The Philadelphia Flyers have started off slow once again. Their defense has looked lost and slow for the most part. Two bright spots have been <a href=. (0-2-2). Previous: . Philadelphia Flyers. 6

Wow have the New York Rangers looked lost so far this season. They have a -8 goal differential and their only win was an opening night win against the Blues. Their offense has actually looked pretty good, which is surprising considering that was probably their biggest concern going into the season. However, their blue line has looked awful. Like, worse than last year’s Capitals defense awful. It’s still early, but if the Rangers want to compete in the Metropolitan Division, their defense has to be much better than it has been thus far.. (1-2-0). Previous: . New York Rangers. 7. team. 95

This team has the potential to be really bad. Losing <a href=. (0-2-1). Previous: . Carolina Hurricanes. 8. team. 109
