Caleb Green, one of the Washington Capitals National Anthem singers, has had quite the offseason.
Washington Capitals fans know all about Caleb Green and Bob McDonald. Before every home game, one of them or both of them will sing the National Anthem just moments before the puck drops for a game at Capital One Arena.
Fans get involved in the Star Spangled Banner as well. When the line, “And the rockets red glare” is sung fans will shout “RED!” in unison. Of course, there’s also the “O” chant for “Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave”. That “Oh” is usually done by the fans from Baltimore who root for the MLB’s Orioles but some fans claim the “O” can also be used for Ovechkin.
Green, along with his vocal group, Voices of Service have captivated America and on the hit TV show “America’s Got Talent” the group advanced all the way to the finals with their performance of “Choke” by One Republic.

“Wow what a way to end. What a way to end. You know I’ve said many times on this show, that we or any show is nothing without the contestants. Your film reminded us of you, what you’ve done throughout your lives, which is outstanding,” said judge Simon Cowell.
“And then on the night that matters, you did the most outstanding vocal we’ve heard from you in the entire series. I know how much this means to you to get into the final and you know what, after that, you deserve to be there. You have my sincere respect. Simply amazing.”
America agreed with Simon and voted them into the finals. Check out their awesome performance below!
Their performance got a well-deserved standing ovation and Simon wasn’t the only judge that voiced his approval. Guest judge Queen Latifah was blown away herself.
“I’m blown away. I’m stunned. I’m shocked because it’s so beautiful. Your voices meld together as one so perfectly. I think about my mom telling me when she would have to wake my father out of his nightmares from Vietnam. What you’re doing DOES have a purpose. It will continue to have a purpose. I hope to see you in the finals but irregardless, keep doing what you’re doing because you are saving and changing lives,” added Latifah.
The final will air on Tuesday night September 17 at 8 p.m. on NBC with the results show taking place the next night. Green and the Voices of Service will be competing for the grand prize of one-million dollars. Stars of Sticks wishes the best of luck to Caleb Green and the Voices of Service!
