The Washington Capitals have a quick turnaround with a matinee today against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Washington Capitals will look to avenge a 4-3 defeat on Super Bowl Sunday to the Pittsburgh Penguins, who have played well recently to the point where they bypassed the Caps in the standings.
Part of the reasoning behind this is the Capitals recent struggles having lost four in a row and five of their last six games.
Their most recent loss came Saturday 3-2 on the road against a last place New Jersey Devils team.

Tom Wilson scored his 19th goal of the season and Alex Ovechkin finally scored the 700th goal of his career.
With that recent milestone out of the way, the Caps can now focus their attention on the homestretch of the season and try to jockey for good playoff positioning.
Both teams will come into this game pretty angry. The Penguins fell 5-2 to the Buffalo Sabres on home ice on Saturday. Both teams are tied for first place with 80 points each making this matchup all the more bigger.
I don’t understand why they scheduled these Caps and Penguins games this late in the regular season but if there’s anything the league accomplished in this it’s making these regular season matchups just as significant as a playoff series between the two teams.
Can the Caps bounce back? Here’s how to find out.
